SWS "Fundamentals of Reservoir Characterization and Modeling" Short Course
Eight UTEP AAPG Members attended the "Fundamentals of Reservoir Characterization and Modeling" short course in Abilene, TX on January 11th. There weren't many students so we were proud to be there. It was a great course taught by Dr. Matthew J. Pranter. Thank you to everyone who went!
Rig Trip and Office Visit with Apache Corporation
UTEP AAPG went to Midland! We visited the Apache Corporation office and went out to one of their new rigs where we had an astounding tour of the entire rig. It was one of the best rig trips we've been on. Thank you Apache Corp!
2015 Earth Science Day
UTEP AAPG Members at Earth Science Day representing the chapter! We raised $75.07 selling raffle tickets, maps, and accepting donations. We gave out FREE bookmarks, water bottles, UTEP AAPG Chapter waters, pens, fridge clips, and grain size charts. We also had three layer cakes out for the kids to take a "core" through the layers and find the oil (choc. frosting).
UTEP AAPG Members also volunteered to run the "fossil dig" out on the courtyard. |

Community Involvement
Project MOVE 2016 - AAPG joined forces with SGE, SEG, and Theta Chi in conjunction with the Caster Heights Neighborhood Association on February 27th. We cleaned up Todd Ware Park and the surrounding community roads. Thank you UTEP for the free breakfast and to Sam's club for sponsoring lunch at the park.
Project MOVE 2015 - The purpose of the day was to provide students, staff, faculty, and alumni of the University, with an opportunity to give back to the El Paso community. AAPG joined forces with SEG and traveled to the east side of El Paso to clean up trash around Todd Ware City Park and the surrounding community.
